Practice Patient Survey and Dispensing Survey Feedback

Thank you to the many of you who took the time to complete these surveys. The results are available as downloads on the right.

The results were reassuring that most of the time we get most things right and all the staff appreciate the many kind comments that were made. There were areas that you wished to see improved, we have made changes and will keep these issues under regular review. Some issues such as the out of hours service are clearly outside of our control.

Getting through for appointments We have improved, every year the score that you give us in this area is higher, and will continue to try and improve. Do remember that 8.30 to 10.00am is always very busy. For non-urgent appointments, results and general enquiries try phoning in the afternoon. If you are on the internet remember that you can now book doctor appointments on-line.

Emergency issues are dealt with very well but routine appointments are more difficult to obtain We have increased the proportion of pre-bookable appointments and added two extra evening surgeries every Monday.

Less time waiting We don't like running late, but sometimes we need to spend more time with a patient, and some patients will bring in several problems, which we try to fully address to reduce inconvenience.

Blood tests at surgery Blood tests are available by appointment on Tuesday and Friday mornings at Madeley and on wednesday morning at Baldwins Gate. A warfarin monitoring clinic is held at Madeley every Friday.

Baldwins Gate surgery open longer The branch surgery is open for four mornings each week. if the surgery is redeveloped, as we hope, then we will consult with local patients regarding opening hours and services.

Card payments We would like to offer this service, but the bank charges are prohibitive. We will periodically review the situation.

Answer phone message for leaving prescription requests is much too long We'd never thought about it, so thanks, and we've shortened it - still lengthy, but we do need to provide some information.
