From 1st April 2023, patients who require urgent repeat medication when the GP practice is closed (for example, as a result of running out, damaged medication or leaving home without it) will be able to obtain an urgent supply by contacting NHS111.
Patients will no longer be able to be referred to the Emergency Supply Service via GP practices, GP out of hours providers or just by contacting a pharmacy directly.
